Word meaning more than love?

My boyfriend once told me that there was a word in another language that does not translate to English. It is a heightened form of love, something that means much more than love. I've searched on Google, I've tried to find it, but I can't. What is that word?

There is this word and it is called Hessad and it is Hebrew. It means love, but it cannot be described because i is so extravagant. It is like the perfect friend traits. And sinless. I guess. i am not trying to pull in religion, but it is used primarily to describe the character of christ and his attitude to others.
