Sanskrit translation for tattoo

Asked Jan 25, 2010, 11:48 AM — 6 Answers
Hi! So I've decided to get "independent" in sanskrit as my next tattoo. I looked into it on this Sanskrit Dictionary site and I've found the following:

अनाश्रित
स्वतन्त्र
अनायत्त
निरालम्ब

Since it's going to be on my body FOREVER I really want to find the correct spelling of it. please and thank you!

Hi, ashleysmiless!

Since it's to be permanent, I would strongly suggest that you get more than one opinion as to the translation.

Also, what do you mean by the word, "independent", please? Depending on the meaning, that could make a difference as to how it's translated.

Thanks!

Please tell us the context in which it is used & also if it is addressed to male or female?

I'm using it as if I were to say "i'm independent" and it'd be addressed to a female.

Thank you

Hi again, ashleysmiless!

Do you mean that you're independent as a female or from a female, please?

Thanks!
