No dial tone when trying to ring out, won't let people ring in!
I was on the phone when the phone call was cut off and I could only hear a quiet buzzing sound, after this I tried to call my friend back and every time I pick up the phone I can only hear the buzzing sound!
I asked my friend to call me instead, she said that it was ringing on her end, but my phone didn't ring once! I am so confused as I haven't been able to make or receive a phone call in the last 2-3 hours:confused:
    Can anybody help?:)

Since it rings and rings, your line is open, if it rang busy, could be a short.
Try the box outside first, then any junctions inside house.
    Try ALL jacks.

You have a bad connection. When your friend said she hears it ring from her end that only means that the telco sees your line as "on hook" (open circuit). You may have a problem with your phone - do you have another extension you can try, or can you borrow one from your friend? You can also try plugging your phone into the network interface - this is the point of demaracation between the telco outdside plant and your inside wiring. If you live in a house you'll find the NID on the outside, where the phone line comes into your house. You can unplug the house wiring and plug a phone in there. If you get a good dial tone at the network interface then you know that there's a problem with your wiring inside the house. If you don't get a good dial tone, then the problem is with the phone company. Post back and let us know what you find.

I recently got sent a sim card from o2 which I got off the o2 website. I can receive texts with it but when someone tries to ring me it won't let them get through to me. I have read loads of pages and I have tried going on the settings-manage calls and yeah all that but it still won't do nothing. It really starting to bug me as people are moaning on at me for them not being able to get through to me. I need a soloution and fast because people are starting to bug me! Muchly appreciated if someone could help me out. I have also tried ringing the numbers but with no credit that's not helpful. I don't want to top up my phone and then it still not work so a waste of credit. PLEASE HELP... :)

Jordan - the previous discussion (over 1-1/2 years old, by the way) was about a land-line phone. You are asking about a cell phone, right? You should contact your cell phone carrier to report the issue.

    jordanwatson,
It IS A Bad Connection or a bad phone. You have a Cell Phone, this person is talking about Landline.
With Landlines you need Voltage, Not Signal.
Not sure about your phone except maybe call your carrier.
    What Phone do you have?
