what type of work do you want to do?
would you be okay with religious organizations?
would you be interested in something in the medical field?
or something like Habitat for Humanity?

These are some organizations I know of since I have no idea of your ability to relocate I don't know if these would be of interest to you.

Habitat for Humanity Int'l

Operation Blessing Relief and Development Corporation

Home metroministries

MSF-USA: Doctors Without Borders

Healthcare Missions Take Flight: Flying Doctors of America

This is a pretty complete list of many charities

Might also consider management position in a nonprofit that serves the needs of consumers with developmental disabilities. There are many that provide residential treatment to clients. Many of them will even allow you to do internships to get a feel for it.

Human Resources in that type of agency might be a good option?
