One year out of prison for Bank Larceny, need better paying job FAST.

I'm also trying to find a better paying job. I've been out of prison for a year for Bank Larceny and it's been VERY hard to find anything that pays well. I have a PhD in Human Resource Management and cannot find anything in my field. Another negative against me is that I live in VA, a commonwealth state. I worked for UNICOR so I s/b bondable by the fed'l govt. I tried to get a job in my PO's office but she told me they wouldn't hire me. Aren't they the feds? I have two kids and a $1400 mortgage which can't be sold b/c the feds put a lien on my house. Someone please tell me where I can find a job. I'm about ready to try and relocate to make it.

Well allot of government jobs will not hire a felon, in fact you could not go back and work for UNICOR with a felony now. Do you have skills that may allow you to do your own business of some sort

I have a PhD in Human Resource Management. I've been thinking about starting a daycare, but don't know where to begin or get resources since I obviously don't have any money.
