up dating application

I recently applied online for a position. The application asked for the last 4 jobs, yet none of these jobs were detailed to what I was seeking. I have experience in this line of work but it was ten years ago and there was not room on the application for this and I meant to put in a brief paragraph explaining this, but forgot.
How do I go about updating this app? Should I do an email explaining I DO have experience, re do the application and if so online or in person. Should I do a cover letter explaining and then just give my resume?

Hi Smiley. I was just looking through the unanswered questions file and came across yours. I apologize that no one has been able to get back to you before now.

If this is a company that you applied to through their own website, and not something like Monster.com, the smartest thing for you to do is to create a cover letter addressed to the Director of Human Resources or whoever is the person that is responsible for reviewing applications. In the letter, reference the job you are applying for, and explain why you feel that you are qualified for the position, what additional knowledge you bring to the position, and in what way you will be a benefit to the company. Include your full resume and mail it to that person.

If the company only accepts applications online, please let me know, giving me a little more detail as to how their application process works, I will try to formulate a new plan for you.

Email them, get thier physcial office address and follow up with phone calls, a fax. Even send your resume by mail to them directly.

You need to market and sell yourself
