Going back to an old job.

About 5 months ago, I left a job that I was in for just over 3 years. Although the workload was a bit heavy, I enjoyed working there. The reason I left was to start up a business, but my business failed.

I have worked for other companies in the last couple of months, but haven't been happy working with them and keep thinking how much I miss my old job. Since I left there some people have also left too, and a replacement was found for my old position but none for those that have left since me.

So I think they could possibally need an extra set of hands there, though I know I probally wont be going back to my original position which is shame but that's ok. I just wanted to get other peoples opinions on whether I should call up my old boss and ask if I can come back??? or do you think I should just move on and just keep looking for another job that I'll be happy in??

One thing that does have me doubting about calling my old boss, is the fact that I would be crawling back and a little embarassed by the questions I know I will get because of my failed business. Because when I left, everyone seemed so positive and supportive of me.

Thanks in advance for your help.

No, you are not crawling unless you want to crawl, You are going in, with your head high, but with gained knowledge of what not to do.

I have had to go back to past places before
