Dilemma!! (Job in archives)

I am soon to become a history graduate and had decided that I would like to work in museums/archives. I had therefore decided the best way forward was to do a MA in Museum Studies to which i have been accepted. However, recently i have been told about a job with a local archive center which is a 2 year placement following a lottery grant basically trying to get ppl into and using local archives. This sounds like what i would like to do but i am unsure whether i should apply or stick to my MA plans as I don't know which would be more beneficial in the long term. The job would give me experience, but the course would give me the qualifications!

Anyone in the proffession who can give me advice? Greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I am not a Professsional in this area. But, would like to offer some comments in general.
I have 2 Bachelors Degrees, and a Masters Degree. I worked on my Masters while working a full-time job, in the teaching Profession, many years ago. I am retired now, at 64.
Being unsure is normal! As a side comment, I changed professions/career when I was 36 yrs old, going from teaching High School Math, to earning my 2nd. Bachelors in Engineering, then getting an Engineering job.
You just may change your mind later on.
My suggestion would be to apply for the job, and if you get it, it would give you more experience. If you decide you like this type of career, you could then think about re-applying and how to get a Masters. True, the Master would give you the "papers" (and more knowledge), but why not find out if this is really what you want to do now?
I do wish you the best, and good luck with whatever you decide.
