How can I get a job with a record?

Hey is there any one that can tell me how can I get a new job with this old record haunting me? I have a high school diploma as well as 10 years in sales experience but, nobody will give me the opportunity to prove my skills and work ethic. I ask once agin how can I get a new job with a old record because, I'm struggling to make ends meat?

You did not mention if your record included a felony or misdemeanor. I presume it was a felony. Some employers do not inquire about prior felonies, some ask if you had a felony within the last 3 years, within the last 5 years, within the last 7 years and within the last 10 years. It all depends on the job application they have you fill out what you answer.

Just keep putting in applications and pounding the pavement looking.

How long ago was the conviction?
