Ramadan fasting and Kindney stones

3 Answers Selam alejkum now is Ramadan and I have kidney stones will I be punished if I don't fast because I have so much pain and I have pending surgery please help me because Iam very scared I have started more and more to read and try to practice our religion I need Help thank you |

| Assalamu Alaikum! you will not be punished if you cannot fast due to medical illness! please do not place yourself in danger by fasting! If you cannot fast without harming your body, you are to give fidya. if you become well enough to fast after ramadan is over, you can make up those days, and fast. and then your fidya will count as sadaqah | ||||

| The fast of Ramadan is rigorous, particularly during long summer days when it may be required to resist all food and drink for as many as sixteen hours at a time. This strain may be too much for people with certain health conditions. The Qur'an instructs Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadan, but also gives clear exemptions for those who may become ill as a result of fasting: "But if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (of Ramadan days) should be made up from days later. For those who cannot do this except with hardship is a ransom: the feeding of one that is indigent....
