I know bhyrum - hope I spelled that right and Ramadan.

I don't really know what they're celebrating but when I lived in Turkey during one of the two holidays they beat a drum off of someones house at seven in the morning for a week. And during Ramadan they fast.

Not much help but, Curly Ben's site has a few though.

alazo,
You might like to refer this link
USC-MSA Compendium of Muslim Texts

This link will take you to the following-
*A brief chronology of Islam
*Some biographies of the Companions of the Prophet (pbuh),
*The Rightly-Guided Caliphs

The link also includes all the basic beliefs of Islam.
--------------

Gernald,

I am not familiar with the word"bhyrum" you mentioned,
so I checked the net for details and found that "bayram" is the word used in Turkish language for all nationally celebrated festivals.
