Can a cell phone send random text messages?
The other day I recieced a text from my wife's cell phone. The text contained peoples names we know and some plans she had been making for that night. She says she did not send the text and has no clue how I got it. Is that even possible. Has anyone else expierenced this. If you need any more infor let me know.

You know, DSM, after hearing of all the car thefts in Toronto Ontario with ultimate car theft protection. I mean these cars are top of the line BMWs, Mercedes, and the police have no explanation other then the security systems on these high end cars are being broken into by laptops. I can well imagine that random messages can be sent on a cell phone, by maybe, someone who doesn't like your wife and wants to make trouble between you two. I don't know, you know better than I. Anything is possible in our high technology world.

Well someone could link into her signal and find the exact coding of the phone, copy it and use it to make calls.

But then how would they know all of your friends names.

And of course some phones have online pages where you can make texts from it, ( like ATT) so someone could have hacked her security and did it.

But it would involve someone who either has the equipment or programs, who wants to cause trouble.

So is it possible, yes, is it very likely or does it happen a lot, no, what does happen people are sending texts and hits a wrong name and sends it to someone they did not want to receive it

This is what I think happened. She was texting me and the person she was suppoesed to go out with that night. I think she meant to sent the message to the other person but sent it to me by mistake. The text said "Im still saying Im going out with you just so you know and no Im not going to go see Zar". Zar is a person swhe works with that she has been having an affair with. It looks to me that she meant to send it to her friend but sent it to me by mistake.

I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced their phone doing such crazy things. Because I don't see how this can happen. And she knows I think she is lying.

Today my friend said he sent me a text asking to hang out. I did not receive said text & he said I replied "No" & then he sent "uhmmm.. ok" I did not receive any of those two texts & I am positive I did not send no because I was just about to call him. & on my texts history, It has no memory of this & on his it does. I had my fone on me the whole time so who knows! Hackers perhaps?

    Hey nov9,
Today I was at the library with my 2 daughters and one of their friends. I texted my 14 yr old "Let's go." I got a text back from her saying, "F*k you"
That is NOT my daughter texting me.
I responded back and didn't hear from her.
I called and Verizon said, 'The number you are calling is not in service'
I called her friend's phone and they met me in the lobby. I showed her the text. She freaked out and said she didn't sent it. It was not in her 'Sent' box, though I know she could have deleted it.
I believed her, and I, my other daughter, and her friend sent her a text. None of them came through. The phone wouldn't receive messages either.
Then a few minutes later all the texts we sent came through and the phone was working.
I called Verizon and they had me do *228.
Then later I called her phone and got the "The number you're calling is not in service."
I called Verizon again, and they tried calling and got the same message.
They had me do *228 and it was working.
Then a half hour later I called and got the same message.
This time they put me through to the Tech. He looked in the records and said her phone did send that "F U" text. But he went and disconnected the phone and reconnected it.
She swears she did not send any text like that (no pun intended). I don't think she did, that is not her at all.
So it's a mystery. But it sounds just like your situation.

Just today my boyfriend showed me a message that he received from my phone last night that I did not send. The message was talking about hanging out with someone named Mya and drinking and smoking blacks (I don't even know what smoking blacks means) he is the kind of guy that believes in proof and since the proof was in his hand we are now fighting. This makes me so angry because I really didn't send the stupid text, I was home with my kid's not some girl named mya. There was no proof of the call on my phone and when I used his phone to replied to the text my phone got it. I don't know what else to do except take my mother's advice and move on, because if he doesn't trust me, there's no future even after four years.

I get a text message from someone that isn't in my contact list asking who this was. I was perplexed. Come to find out, the person said that I had texted him, when I hadn't. How could my phone text a complete stranger... I had never seen this number before.

Phones can get malware and malicious apps just like computers. What type pf phone is it?
On a smart phone uninstall all texting apps that are not part of the original load if it is an iPhone and has been jailbroke return it to new condition. There are several apps that can send malicious text and even more that can access and steal your contacts. Just like on a PC be careful of what you install

My daughter's phone got a text from my wife's phone that she did not send. It is in both their phone's histories. I know she didn't text her because we were at lunch together at the time of the text. Within the next two days she got two texts from her dad that he claims he didn't send. Really weird.
