Wrongful Diismissal

Hi
i have worked at a medium sized investment company for 18 months, my job is to input clients information about there investments, when i started there were six of us,reduced to three (cutbacks) then two through staff sick leave.
The persons work who went on sick leave was given to me and went in 'the que, last week my manager informed me that one off the 'clients' which were 'dumped on me due to sick leave had left instructions for 300k to be transferred into another account, this was'nt done, there was no 'flagging' system.
This resulted in the client losing mega money and me now being threatened with dismissal, what is my position as im now being told that i will almost certainly lose my job?.

Pete
