| The nuts and bolts of floating rate funds See symbol: JFR - Nuveen Floating Rate Income Fund
I understand this fund makes more money for you as interest rates go up and less as rates go down. With this and similair types of funds would you expect the share price to be higher or lower during falling, or increasing interest rates? What is net asset value? How do you know when your getting a good deal . How doe the premium-discount come into play??? Help! I dont understand all of these terms but I do think that Greenspan will raise the interest rates long term and that rates are about as low as they can get.
The net asset value per share on this is $14.20, share price is $14.41
Premium/discount is 1.48%..dividend per share is $0.0760. current dividend yield on share price is 5.83%. Does this mean that for every share i purchase at 14.41 i will make 5.83 return on investment. How is the dividend yield calculated? Any sense of direction that I can get here would be appreciated!
Joe ps..I was also wandering what happens to the dividend yield when the share price goes down...or does it matter? |
