Stormy69 Nontroduction

So I am curious. I see a lot of very interesting and unique user names, please post why you chose the name you did, what significance does it hold.

Mine, I overcame a tremendous fear of lightning and storms, now I chase and photograph them.. and the 69... No ya pervs. LOL it's the year I was born

Edited due to pressure LOL.
Okay sheesh.. nap time.
My name is Amy, I am 36, married to my second husband for 10 years, We have 4 kids, two girls from my first fiasc... er marriage.. an adopted son( my husbands biological son) and a son we had together. I am also the proud Gramma of a 7 week old Grandson.
I was born and raised in AZ. moved to WY. with my first husband in 1990 to get to know my bioillogical sperm donor, who left when I was 2.
turns out I wasn't missing much.
I was the youngest of 5 growing up, the blacksheep of the family. I was the product of my mother's second marriage. My siblings all had the same mom and dad, I had a different donor.
When I found my " real dad" I learned I had a little brother and sister.. that was a trip being the youngest all my life then suddenly being the oldest. any way.. so I moved to Wy. all my family I grew up with was in AZ. It was hard adjusting, but I survived.
My first husband left me for a man after 2 kids and 4 years. So I did the single mom thing for a few years, kissed a lot of frogs, but finally found my prince charming. My younger sister and brother moved to AZ. a few years ago..* what do I stink?? LOL.
I have held a lot of jobs in my 36 years, from welders helper on a pipeline, to photo specialist, to certified Hortoculturist( home depot style)
fork lift operator, construction,to flipping burgers.
I finally had the oppertunity to become an EMT which was something I wanted to do all my life( my mom was an EMT) and now here I am.

I have shaved sense then and cut my hair a little shorter not much though.
I also try not to scare the patients to death so I keep my hair braided and the beard is now down to a gotee. All though the gotee has been nown to get six to eight inches long.

They told me that I would kill my patients If i didn't shave and get a hair cut.
I would fill bad If that actually happened.

All Though one night my looks came in handy.
But I can't tell you about though. You know hippa regs.

Talani-man, Earth -man in the ancient language because I try to be a well grounded human being and my avatar is the earth in the good hands of GOD. Like my avatar I am in GOOD hands too. Please excuse the occasional off beat humor, it come around at the darndest times. It may not make sense but it makes me feel better and I seem to fit in with the rest of the nuts here!

Oh, not ME, Magpie!!

(Acutally I must confess the picture of a "maglite" brand flashlight portuding out a certain place flashed through my mind ever so briefly but I quickly supressed it into the swamp of my subsconscious )

Seems to be working now. I was getting strange messages when I tried to post. I though the moderators finally gave me the axe!

Well, I was 'gently nudged' toward this thread, so I had better post.

It’s common for Pagans to take a second name, especially those who work in a group. Northwind Dagas is that second name for me, and was chosen after meditation.

North because that direction is associated with the Earth and I am very much grounded and "down to Earth."

Wind because air represents intelligence, communication, psychic powers, and masculinity. Air is the power of the mind, the force of intellect, inspiration, imagination. It is ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes.

Dagas (Usually spelled Dagaz) is a rune, used with other runes for divinitation and is what is pictured in my avatar. Dagas reminds us that this is a life of balance - good & evil, dark & light - all extremes have their opposite and it is possible to move from one to the other. This is the rune of transformation, the power which is available to all of us. It can also signify the end of dark times, as if stepping out in to the light. Success is within reach.

Well, there you have it. Sorry you asked?

And for a little tounge-in-cheek humor, try this Pagan Name Generator.

valinors_sorrow : I enjoyed that muchly - thank you for obliging a cat's curiosity,Northwind!
