introduction

Hello Everyone
Just thought I’d introduce myself. My name Is Debbie. I currently live in Florence Mississippi. My husband and I moved here from Bradenton Florida in 2001 to help care for my father who had Alzheimer's. He died in 2004 and my mother followed him this past Thanksgiving Day, In June after that my oldest brother died as well. I have been doing a lot of introspection lately.
Just a little about me, I am an Air Force brat. We moved a lot when I was growing up. I married at 17 and raised two children here, in Mississippi. When they were older I got my GED and went to college. I now have a BS in Ele ED. I moved to Florida and did some teaching then took a job with the state helping those who could not help themselves. I learned a great deal about government and people, but even more about myself during that job. In the meantime my marriage ended, my children grow up and I remarried. My husband is retired Air Force and has epilepsy. We take care of each other. I am glad I found this site because I tend to keep things to myself. I need to share more. I also feel that since my life has been so varied I may be able to help someone out there. Along with epilepsy my husband is also bipolar as is my daughter. (not his daughter, that is just an interesting coincidence ) My son has three children and is divorced for the second time. My daughter has one son and shares custody with his father. I have been a “super christian” in the past. Studied and taught every class in church you can imagine. I graduated from a Christian college. My life is not one with the church anymore. I don’t have horns and I DO believe in a higher power. My eyes just see things very differently now and I would love to share that but only with someone who wantes to listen, and I mean listen and hear.
Thats enough for now. I hope we can get to know each other.
Debbie

Hi Debbie, welcome to the site.

You definitely have a lot of experience behind you. I am sorry to hear that so much of it has been so painful. It's like I can just feel it through your words. You are definitely blessed to have a husband you can share things with. It's nice that you are still a believer because sometimes that's all it seems we have. There are many people here to share any problems with, or even just to have fun with. For the most part there are a lot of good listeners here who will hear you.

I hope to see you around the board! Take care.

No worries...I haven't managed to scare anyone off yet. I'm glad you have found a place to come and talk. You should read other people's posts too. There is a lot of good stuff on this site. Even if you search, you will find some good things. You are not alone with your problems. Please feel free to open up. No one knows you and all most of us do is offer free, non-judgemental advice or thoughts from our own experience. I think that is the best part of this being anonymous. It's great.
