Just a little bout me

Hello all! I guess I did this backwards, I should have introduced myself BEFORE interrupting all of your conversations. LOL! Anyway...

My name is Kym, & I'm 29 (or so I tell people). Can't remember how many times I've celebrated my 29th birthday. I will be married for 12 years in October, & have been w/ my husband for 20 years. We started dating as teens, broke up umpteen times (as teens do) & finally realized after dating MANY others, that we were meant to be.

I am a veterinary Technician (for 9 years) & just finished a course to be a Certified Nurse Assistant. I was a Travel Consultant for 7 years. I love to learn new things, & share the information I have acquired with others.

My friends always come to me for advice, because I call it like I see it. However, once I give you my opinion, you can do whatever you want to with it. I feel that the more angles you have to look at something with, the greater the chance of seeing it straight.

I tend to be "wordy", so I apologize in advance. I will try to learn how to condense things. Also, I can't spell. Never could, & doubt I will learn anytime soon. I prefer to pretend that I didn't spell it wrong, but that I just made a type-o instead. (please humor me),

I have two children, a 7 yr. old son, & a 4yr old daughter. My son has recently been diagnosed as having Asperger's syndrome. We have been looking for an "answer" as to why he does the things his does since he was @ 2 1/2. So far I feel that this is the best explanation we have received so far. We are however having a very difficult time w/ his school.

Currently I have 1 dog(had 2, lost one to lung cancer last August ) & 2 cats. I love animals.

I have really been enjoying reading a lot of posts, & answering ones that I felt that I could contribute to. Love reading the lounge, but still trying to figure it out.

Anyway, this is long so I will wrap up w/ saying that I have had some unfortunate life experiences (won't go into now), but I think I have survived them, & learned from them. If I see something that I think my past might be able to help someone else with , I will share what I have learned.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you better, & I promise I will work on the length thing

Welcome Kym.

Have you met any parents with Aspergers Children? If not, let me know I can put you in touch with a wonderful woman who has an autistic son and an aspergers son.

She is quite a learning experience and can help you with ideas for your son in school.

Meet ya back at The Lounge

J-9, I would love to chat w/ your friend. I am trying to learn as much as I can, & that is not always easy. The "experts" are helpful, but it's the parents who also are dealing w/ the same thing, that seem to be the most help. They know for experiance. If you could give me her info, or Privet mail me, & I will give you my info to give to her. Thanks!!!

J-9, just wondering if you could put me in touch w/ your friend. Right now I need all of the advice that I can get from people who are actually living it too. Thanks.
