I'm not one for blowing my own horn, but I'll add my background so anyone interested can place my answers in context to that background.

Career-wise
-Started out as a Loan Manager with a Loan company, also worked as a skip tracer.
-Fell into the Employee Benefits field and spent 10 years administering Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans
-When PCs first came out I found an aptitude for working with PC software that revived an interest in computing that was first kindled in high school.
-Become the proverbial power user who turned pro, by leveraging my aptitude for PCs and moved into the IT field where I've been for over 20 years.

Interests-wise
-I've said I'm fortunate in that my vocation is also my avocation. I enjoy computing so much that besides working with them in my career, I also spend time on sites like these talking computing and have been doing so for about 20 years on SIGs, Compuserve, Prodigy, AOL and the WEB.
-I am an avid bicyclist. I've been a professional bike tour leader as well as a leader for various clubs.
-I'm also an avid reader. Reading a wide variety of material. So much so that I can often answer questions from the knowledge I've gained over the years.

Philosophy
-I believe that knowledge is power and therefore the gift of knowledge is a precious one. One to be taken seriously and carefully. I learned greatly when I first started using cyberspace and the only condition asked by those who helped me was to "Pay it Forward" by helping others in turn.
-I believe in tangibles. Things that can be measured and proven by facts and logic.
