Hello!
My name is Lindsey and I'm a Norwegian/American college student. I grew up in Norway, but have spent the past few years in the U.S. Despite the fact that English is somewhat of a second language for me, I do speak English very well and have won awards in that area. Despite this, I am a philosophy major, although I am applying for an editing minor. I do tend to agree with the Associated Press when it comes to style, but that's mostly because I had an internship with a magazine and I work with the school's public relations department. I speak Norwegian fluently as well and know some French.
In addition to knowing a thing or two about languages, I love music. I'm in a band where I play the guitar, but I'm not very good. I do, however, listen to more music than most and recently went through physical therapy for a crowd-surfing related incident.

My three favorite bands are The Ataris, Yellowcard and 30 Seconds to Mars, but I listen to a greater variety of music than that, ranging from Bob Marley (which I listened to in the womb) to Gwen Stefani (who was rockin' when with No Doubt). I won't claim to like everything, but your iPod probably has something on it that is on mine. In general, though, I'd lump most of my tunes under the general headline of "Rock." I particularly analyze lyrics very well... Hence my love for The Ataris. And, oh, I recommend checking out John Cooper Clarke...
Other areas I randomly have some level of "expertise" in are photography (especially Photoshop), Egyptology, the benefits of Oxyclean in purse-making projects, BSing answers that actually turn out to make sense and M. Night Shyamalan movies. Oh, and I'm an oldest child. Trust me, it counts for something... I'm the one that the parents experimented on.
Well, that should about do it for now! I love to talk about random topics, so this message board seems right up my alley...
