They want the interview on the phone because they want a feel for how you sound and handle yourself in a telephone conversation. I dont think they will be asking about your strengths or weaknesses but more or less your expertise on computers. Of course if you dont know what they are paying, you should ask that plus what kind of benefits the job offers, hours of employment. I dont think this interview will be rocket science. Call at the specified time, they will probably be expecting to you, but be prepared to hold. If you have trouble talking on the phone I would not think this is the kind of job you want. You will probably be working at a call in center and taking calls from people who need a troubleshooter for their computer problems.

My son worked at one of these for three years and he was glad to get out of it and he is in IT with a very good telephone manner. He just couldnt take the insults from some of the people calling for help.

You are also expected to sell parts, accessories, etc.

thank yous so much tickle for your suggestions. I actually passed the phone interview, now i have face to fact interview next week tuesday, could any one please suggest me what type of questions i should ask (remember its a pc support specialist position), the person who did my phone interview said, face to face interview will take probably hour and half, they'll give me a tour and will ask some technical question. Please tell me what you think what kind of questions they might ask me, and what should i ask them.

thanks again

becky12, you have to play this one by ear. No one can assume what will be asked and what will be answered. If that was the case I could have gone into any interview I had over the 20 years feeling very confident knowing what would be asked, etc.

If you are a good IT person then you have nothing to worry about. I hope your computer knowledge is completely up to date.
