Is doing Internships allowed for my Child on L2 Visa?

Hello,

I have come to US recently just before 6 months and heard about Internships.

Is there a need for EAD or SSN to work?

My son is in 9th Grade and looking for Internships in summer. He is on L2 visa and I am on L1 visa.

According to the EAD instructions, L1 family members are NOT authorized to work.

But, I think that EAD or SSN is not necessary for internships.
