Unalbe to connect via wireless of cablke to internet

I have a Gateway laptop with a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG adapter. Unable to connect. I have phoned Linksys ( router) but they took me through the steps of ipconfig, rlease dns , renew dns etc, but still unable to connect - I have 3 desktops connected wireless as well and they all work fine. how should I reset the whole adapter ?
