Removing Icons from Desktop

Is it possible to have a clear view of background wallpaper without any icons?

How do you remove My Computer, My Network Places and the Trash Can from the desktop?

Just click on the icon and drag it down to the bottom toolbar, the bar across the bottom.

An even easier way is:-

Right-Click anywhere on your desktop
Select 'Arrange Icons By'
Select 'Show Desktop Icons'

This will then hide them all, to reveal them again, just repeat the steps again.
