page cannot be displayed after 3 minutes

Win 98se , 256mb, sys rec @ 85% free, cable , router, IE 6.0 version 6.0.2800.1106
When online, after about 5 minutes my browser seems to die. Im still online, outlook will come up and send email successfully, and if im playing a game, i can play all night, as long as i dont close it (shockwave). I will then have to just reboot pc and IE is working again. The other PC has no issues. tried to ping after got the error, "page cannot be displayed" and can ping successfully. Ran AVG virus program, it did find a trojan, and was removed, now showing no virus's. Also ran spybot and ad-ware and found just a couple of things and took care of those. Did repair on IE...no good, downloaded IE 6 again...no good. of course did the normal things, cleared cookies, temp files. also did dun/ras, and rebuilt my tcpip stack. This started happening about 1 week after we installed a kodak usb camera with docking station. dont know if this had anything to do with it or not. also prior to this could not open .pdf files. if all else fails, guess ill reformat. any ideas??? again, simply rebooting the pc fixes the issue for about 5 minutes, then back to page cannot be displayed again.

Re: page cannot be displayed after 3 minutes

Seems like you have done quite a bit. Does it start to happen on any websites or websites that you might go to that have javascripts, flash, etc?

You might also try http://housecall.trendmicro.com as well. The virus does worry me some. Did you write down what it was & maybe try to go to Symantec's website & get the removal from them as well - just in case.

Re: page cannot be displayed after 3 minutes

Might be the game you are playing. I get a similar problem when playing "Age of Conquerors". I think it leaves great gaping holes in the memory as it is being played. It's the only game I have to reboot after playing.

The PDF file problem is a misdirected setting in IE or the registry (I assume you can open them if you right-click, save as, then open them from Windows Explorer?).
