Blue screen but not of death

Hi,

I have a win98se problem, when I am connected to the web (256k broadband) at a random time (5 mins to 2 hours so far), when I can be doing anything, browsing, downloading, streaming, etc. MY screen goes blue with a white oblong box about 1cm high by 3cm long in the middle top quarter of the screen with a flashing underscore cursor in the bottom quarter right hand third of the screen.

The PC is frozen and needs to be restarted. There is no error message or text of any description.

This has never happened when I am not on the web. I have scanned with an updated AVG anti virus, I have scanned with Ad-Aware and Spybot. I have ad-aware professional, so have live scanning for spyware. I have an up to date firewall.

Anybody know what this is? Or how to get rid of it? Would appreciate any help!
