Java Script Conflict

Hi, I have 2 java scripts that I want to put on one template. I pasted the 2 different scripts correctly into the areas where I need them.(1 - Scroller, 2 - Drop Down Menu) Both work, but not at the same time. I need my menu and the scroller to work on the page. It also gives me no errors. This is the script thats inside my HTML

SCROLLER - <script language="JavaScript1.2" src="jsscroll/vscroll_data.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript1.2" src="jsscroll/dvs_script.js"></script>
???

DROP DOWN MENU - <script language="JavaScript1.2"> dqm__codebase = "script/" //script folder location</script>
<script language="JavaScript1.2" src="SMTAdata.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript1.2" src="script/dqm_loader.js"></script>
