Internet Explorer

In my Internet Explorer when I try opening a site some other site open up. Further the images dont show up in the browser. Also when browsing on a site and I trying opening up a link in a new window, though I get the address of the link in the new window, the site does not open up and display error message. How do I correct this problem.
