What is a Blog?

Yes, I've read a few of these:
"what is a blog?" - Google Search

...and I've looked at several Blogs.

I do see that a main feature is that visitors can enter comments...is that basically the only, or only significant difference?

So if I do a journal on a website, is that website then called a Blog?

only if it's possible for other people to leave comments.
I think this is the main difference between a simple Journal and a Blog.

That sounds so close to "forum".

I've installed pMachineFree and will play around a bit.

Oh drat. I've screwed it up already.

My confirmation email says

...but look, it's just an ugly directory.
