| sales tax i.d. or resellers permit?
Hi,
I'm new here today and am trying to find out how to get a resellers permit, or a sales tax i.d. without having to have a long involved full blown business license. I am in Alabama and when I call the department covering that sort of thing I usually get a big "duh?" I want to sell on-line, hopefully to have my own .com by next year. I first have to be able to buy at wholesale prices before I can do that. Someone told me that a sales tax i.d. is the same as my SS #? I found that hard to believe. Is there any help that I can get on this? When I go to the site for the licenses etc. for this state I get nothing but more links to click on and most of them just keep referring me to the complete business license. Surely there must be a simpler way of doing it.
I'd appreciate any info anyone may have on this.
