How Do I build an e-commerce store to sell e-books and audiobooks

Hello All,

I'm trying to build an ecommerce store to sell ebooks & audiobooks. I am thinking about hiring Prosper, Inc. to assist me in building this store. Does anyone have any feedback on Prosper, Inc? Should I hire them or use another service and/or individual?

I don't have any information of Prosper Inc. but what I would do is check with the Better Business Bureau website and also ask for references from at least three other business's they did work for.
Good Luck

Hi, this is not directly related to your question, but I thought your website idea sounded very interesting. Will you be recording the audiobooks yourself, and writing or transcribing the ebooks? Or will it be an author's membership site? I'd like to know more about it!

I'm still working out the details.. but.. Yes I do plan on writing my own e-books and record myself reading them to the user.. that way I can charge more for the two items to download.. You can actually hire a Ghost Writer to help you create the book.. then add your own flavor.. and produce the books..

So how would that beat the conventional selling your book to a publisher? Will it be more lucrative, or just simpler?

both.. you don't have to pay the royalties and all that other stuff.. so it's a lot cheaper from a admin expense on your end.. plus you only buy the book for one cheap price.. and they can turn around and sell it for what ever you want.
