How Do I find out if this company is legit?

I had recently gone online to apply for a loan to pay off my vehicle and some bills I asked for $7,000 and got approved with the bad credit that I have. I have to question this..... because everytime I call this guy he is very unprofssional and he says the name of the company is Epic Financial services and the web site is epicfinancialservices.net but when I go to the site I get nothing..... Also he is the only person that answeres the phone when it says someone elses name when you call...... another thing I question is that I have to pay a close to $1,000.00 refundable insurance on the loan before I get it and he told me I only have untill next Friday to come up with this money....... Im not sure if that is the way it's suppose to go....... so anyone with any advise or knowledge please help I am young and have no knowledge of getting loans and such .....

Sounds like a scam to me, you should have to pay upfront for insurance, most company add it in.

This is a fraud, I've been in the loan business, any closing costs is usually deducted from the borrowed loan amount. The difference should be sent to you. There is no such thing as paying up front to get a loan. Why would people get loans anyways, because they don't have money so money shouldn't be paid up front. Hope it helps
