tile grout

I would appreciate if anyone could tell me how to get grout off tile. Not just gout haze but more like chunks of grout. What tools to use, what solvent, anything to help me out. I also have a problem with the actual grout. It is a different color on parts of the floor. Would it be easier to just remove the grout and put new down were it is, the bad grout is in one 9x4' area. If so what should I use to remove it? Thank you for the help.
