Great info and link. However, I have a follow up question.

As I understand it, after the mortar bed shower floor is installed, ceramic tiles are installed. However, can "Amtico" floor tiles be used instead of Ceramic Tiles. These are floor tiles made from resin compounded so they have a rubber like feel. And would be less slippery than ceramic tiles. Also, they have no grout line so they would be easier to keep clean. I've used this flooring in my kitchen with great success.

There may be some reason they can't be used. The morter bed shower floor would assure waterproofing. But, I may be missing something.
