stained concrete to tile

I am wanting to cover my stained concrete with slate tile. I have been told that stained sealed concrete creates a barrier that tile will not adhere to. I am just wondering if anyone has ever covered stained concrete with tile before and if they had any problems.

Any ideas on this are welcomed!!!

You should clean the concrete with a cleaner that will etch it. First, describ the room and application you plan. Is this an interior room, basement, where are you located. Putting slate on a below grade floor can be a problem in some climates.

sjunesnow agrees: Helpful, will look for application to etch the concrete before tiling.
