Squeaky floors

We have several squeaky spots in the upstairs floors of a raised ranch. The floors are carpeted over plywood. I think the supports are some sort of metal so in some places you hear not only the creaking of the plywood but also what sounds like the nails rubbing in and out of the metal supports as you put weight on them.
Does anyone know any quick easy fixes?
