Bathroom Floor Underlayment

House is 50 years old.
The toilet has leaked between the cast iron flange and the toilet. The underlayment is two sheets of 3/4 inch plywood. The floor covering is linoleum. I have removed the damaged underlayment which is about half the area of the bathroom floor. I am also replacing the cast iron tub that I have removed. Should I remove the rest of the underlayment and start over from the subfloor up with new material to assure that I have a level floor for new vinyl? What material would you suggest?
