    vinyl flooring in the bathroom
    Would I be able to lay the sheet vinyl without removing the toilet?

    Anything can be done if you try hard enough. Pull the toilet, it's not that much work. Buy a kit for remounting the tank to the stool, and a new wax ring. If you do the job without removing the toilet, you will probably not be happy with the result. Good luck.
