Rust on White Carpet

I have several rust stains on a acrylic off-white carpet. Will any of the products like Rustoleum" get rid of the stains. Is it safe? Would prefer to use something NON-chemical if anyone has suggestions. Thank you.

White vinegar or Old Colony Cleaner.

pergammano agrees: Have tried Vinegar to no avail. Can you tell me what Old Colony is?

Old Colony is a powdered cleaner that you mix with water. It produces no suds, but gives the water a very silky feel. My family had a high-end furniture store, and we've used this product to (seriously!) take roofing tar from velvet chairs. You may find this in a good furniture or hardware store; I've never looked for it at Lowe's or Home Depot. I'll do some looking to see if I can find any other information. If all else fails, I can direct you to a furniture store that would probably ship it to you.
