| Buckling ceramic tile in shower I recenlty had a bathroom remodel with a cremaic tile shower. We had euro shower doors and glass installed to finish the shower. When the lower pivot for the door was installed no silicone was used to seal this point, installer error. There are 3 holes drilled into the tile lip of the shower. We used the shower for 5 weeks and then noticed the grout line was cracking on the iniside and outside of the lip. The glass company came and recently sealed this entry point. My question is can I just scrape out the grout and replace it or do I need to tear out the tile and replace the wood used to create the lip like my contractor wants? Cement board was used under all the tile as was a plastic liner over the lip. My contractor is concerned the water that got under the tile will never dry or escape. I think it will dry if we correct the problem that allowed the water to get in.
Thanks for the help in advance. |
