Removing cement from glazed tiles

Removing cement from glazed tiles

I have about 6 sq m of glazed floor tiles (c1910) that have a thin layer of cement on the back. Can this be removed without damaging the glazed face to lay on top of other tiles or will I have to lay them in cement?
