    Raising a concrete floor by 6 inches
    I have an out building that I want to convert into a room but the floor needs to be raised by 6 inches, does anyone have any ideas to help?

    2 x 6's and a wood floor. Handy for running plumbing and wiring and for insulating with a vapor barrier too.

    A 2x6 measures 5 3/8'' high and 2 layers of 1/2'' plywood measures 1''. This will give u 6 3/8''.

    If u need exactly 6'', u will have to measure depth of finish flooring plus 1/2'' for subfloor. What is left will be the height the floor beams will need to be. U can either rip a 2x6 to this height or use 2x4's and shim them to the required height.
