Block Basement Repair?

I have recently purchased a 135 yr old house.
There was minimal water leakage in the basement & it was not a problem.
Unfortunately, we have now discovered another leak in the opposite end of the basement. It is located in the finished Rec room & soaked about a 1/4 of the rug.
Before I start ripping up rug & underpad & removing trim & panelling I was wondering if anyone had some advice on the proper way to repair a block basement.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The proper way would be to fix or install a perimeter drain system at the base of the foundation and waterproof the below grade walls. Making sure downspouts are not discharging water too close to the house and that the grades are sloping away form the house will help too. Interior applied products may fix a leaky sopt, but the water will find another way in eventually.

ballengerb1 agrees: yep, you must seal from the outside or go with the cutain drain.
