It's hard to find, but you can get fiberglass insulation that is 16" wide instead of the standard 15" that is designed to fit into a wood frame cavity. This way you can just friction fit it and not have to attach it at all.
A steel-framed wall has something like half the R-value of a wood-framed wall with the same insulation because of the thermal bridge that the metal studs create. This is why 1" rigid foam insulation is often put on the outside to cut down on the heat transfer through the studs.
