I could give you an average cost for around my location to paint those areas if I had some dimensions of the rooms with which to work. How much it will cost per square foot will depend on the average prices where you will be working.

One of the things that I do for a living is that I am a house painter. Around where I live and work, the going rate per square foot is about .70 cents for the application of two coats on a wall with a roller and doing the edges with a brush. And, that price is for an absolutely flat surface. For the trim, I use a brush. The rate for that is about $1.25 per linear foot for two coats. Neither of these prices include the cost of materials used, surface preparation, priming if needed or the paint used. For anything other than the painting, I would charge an hourly rate that I would like to make and figure that into my bid. As to the rates where you are, I don't know. If you let us know where you will be working, there might be some prices for around there that are listed on the Internet.

This is an extremely hard post to answer. It would vary from country to country, state to state, municipality to ....... I am about to find out myself but I am doing all the trim, took of the wallpaper and the walls will be ready for the estimate. I am cutting down on cost by doing the ground work.

I would suggest you visit painting contractors and find out what they charge per square foot.

Clough agrees: That is a good idea to be doing as much of the work that you know that you can do well yourself, before having to pay someone to do it!!

Tickle makes a valid point regarding your location. I have a property that is very remote. Some tradesmen want an extra $75 just to come out because of the distance, where do you live and have you asked a pro for an estimate?
