I have very little counter top and would like to cut the eating bar off and raise it flush with the counter to create more uninterupted counter space. how would i go about this?

Nice pics - always very helpful when asking a question.

The best solution is to remove the existing stepped countertop, sell it on Craigslist, and install a new flat countertop. You'll have to use bar stools rather than chairs to sit at the new counter height.

There will be some minor drywall/ paint and trim repair but it is not a big job.

The type of countertop you have is not the type you want to start hacking on as it will probably shatter or not cut straight.

The helpful idea of the rtw travel is your best bet. You might not be able to sell on Craigslist but you can donate the countertop to Habitat if there is one near you and take a tax deduction on the donation of this. They will even come out and pick it up if you call them and ask.

It looks like you have a back splash that might be a seperate part of the lower counter.
If that is correct, you could remove the supports underneath the bar, lift out the whole portion and try removeing the back splash,scraping off the calking and re-install the counter using the existing supports to secure the counter top flush with the the higher one.
If you are on a budget and can't afford a whole new one as one other said.
The problem is a calk line thayt you seal the two joints together with will show.

Larry is right. It lloks as though there is a seam and you should be able to remove it. You will probably have some drywall repair that you can mud,texture,prime and paint. I would find a tinted silicone caulk for the seam. Look in the bathroom or tile area at home depot. Clen the seam well with denatured or isopropyl alcohol. Run masking tape across both edges and apply the caulk and smooth it out. Wait a few minutes and remove the tape.
