    Laying Backer Board
I am tiling my bathroom floor and there are some uneven areas. I had planned on laying a bed of thinset over the plywood subfloor and then lay down the backer board. Would it be feasible to put a little extra thinset in the uneven (low) area and then level out the backer board when I set it? The uneveness is about a 1/4" dip. Should I put down thinset to level the floor, let it dry and then lay the thinset the lay the backer board... yikes... I am confused. HELP!
    Thanks for your help.

There's A Few Ways To Do This, If It Is Only A 1/4 Dip Id Probably Just Run The Durock First, You Don't Have To Lay A Bed Of Mortar Down First, Unless You Want To. Some Do Some Don't, I Never Have, My Tile Guy Does Only On A Few Occasions, Never The Less If Its Just A 1/4 Id Work That Out With The Tile, Just Make Sure You Start With The Low Section First, Once You Get The Backer Board Down, Run You A Level Around The Floor And Find The Low Spot, Mix Up Some Thinset And Trail It Out To Fill In The Dip, Fan Out The Edges Where The Dip Comes Back Up To Being Level With The Floor.
Now When Your Finding The Dip Your Now Trying To Get The Floor Level. Your Just Filling Dips Is All. If You Start Leveling The Floor You May Be Asking For A Lot More Work Than You Need.

After You Fill What You Need To, Let It Dry For A Few Hours To Where It Will Hold The Wieght Of The Tile And Lay The Floor, If You'll Be Standing Near This Spot , Just Wait 8hrs And Then Lay The Floor.
    Hope This Helps
