Which insulation is better--rockwool or fibreglass?

We have a built-in, homemade fibreglass shower that we want to paint. Over the years its just gotten old looking and we want to refresh it what can we use?

We are removing to popcorn from to ceiling and found that no insulation was ever add. We have two skylights windows and recest lighting also in this ceiling. We stopped everything until we can find out which way to go. What is the best wayto to this. What other information do you need from me....

Should the two pieces, tub and wall portion be siliconed together

I installed a fibreglass sink on top of a vanity and now I need to attach the 2 pieces of backsplash (also fibreglass), one on each side of the countertop. What sort of adhesive do I use and do I use adhesive where the backsplash touches the sidewall or just where it touches the countertop?
