I am assuming you are doing this to replace it and not for some repair. I use a reciprocating saw, mask and goggles. The surrounds are usually more than one piece and you can wedge a prybar into the seam to get started. To be safe shut off your water and all electric circuits but the one you need for the saw, I run a 25 ' extension cords so I'm drawing power from somewhere other than the bathroom. Chop it up into 2x2 pieces so you can remove easily.
