how to decorate a room with a large zebra fabric covered sofa

I have just bought a large zebra fabric covered sofa and need some advice on how to decorate the room.
At present it has a mid green carpet and pale yellow walls - should I change these and what colour should the curtains be

Years ago, I had a similarly covered sofa and so painted three walls flat white and the wall behind the sofa flat black. I added red accents with pillows and in wall hangings/pictures. The carpet was a red and black shag (remember, this was years ago and shag was "in").

Without changing colors, add green and bronzy accents with pillows and wall stuff?

Go with an african theme, just don't over do the animals.
Try adding a few framed pictures of savannah.
I like the idea wondergirl had about bronzy accents and pillows- that could be cool.
Just have fun with it!

Wondergirl agrees: I can picture a display of bas-relief African animal plaques in bronze. I like your African motif.

They have some really nice textured wallpapers out that look like bamboo or grass. I'd consider that because they are light and airy, but fit the theme. Regardless, I think I would lose the pale yellow walls and go with a mossy green and accent with darker greens like billiard green and/or emerald green.

I'd go with the jungle theme! Use white sheers that look like mosquito netting on the windows. Use artificial (I would use real) branches to hang them on, and dress it up a bit with greenery. In all honesty, I would probably paint one wall as if it were the african savannah. Blue skies with clouds, jungle-y type area in the distance, grasses in the foreground. I would probably add an elephant or two, maybe at a watering hole, and some gazelle or something way off in the distance.

Have fun with it! You can project the images onto the wall with a rented overhead, pencil draw them and use acrylics to fill them in and blend. Oh, I would LOVE to do this room!

Hope you can use some of these ideas!

Hugs, Didi

Nice ideas above.

Here are some pic with zebra pattern combinations just for you to get a general idea of which colours go well with it.

It really depends on what type of style you are going for and which room. Me personally, I would go Modern and either put a dark laminate on the floor or change the carpet color to a dark color. And I would use a deep red on the walls with white curtains to break up the darkness but still give it a romantic look
