hanging drywall

is it possible to hang drywall over wallpaper using only a liquid drywall adhesive.? the studs are difficult to locate in our concrete/plaster mix as some walls are more than 3 inches thick.

Best to remove all paper
In the concrete areas use cut nails and construction adhesive liberally as needed
Some nails can be used to hold drywall until adhesive has dried

In the stud areas poke around till you find them and use adhesive as needed
